Hi, I am  the principal design engineer at Prairie Digital, Inc.  I have experiences in the Z80, 8080, 8048, 8051, F8, and the Microchip PIC processors.  Started playing with microprocessors in 1974 with an Altair 8800.

In previous job I have worked on High Voltage Particle accelerators used in Physics research, implanting, material testing.

Worked on the PC based computer control system of a Xray generator for the English/French Chunnel with many trips to Folkstone, England and Calis, France, another Xray generator in LeHarve, France , a high temperature wafer implanter in Sweden, and a few trips to Japan for the control system of accelerators in Tsukuba, Tokyo, Nara, and Kobe Japan.

Also worked on High Power Radar systems in Shemya Air Force Base, Alaska ( now the Eareckson AFB) for General Electric, some micro based projects for Soiltest (Civil Engineering Equipment), and some projects on my own with the Heath H89 and designed micro based equipment for local companies.

The following are some of the  Microchip PIC designs that I have completed (or in process)  from conception to finish product including the hardware design including layout of the PCB, software in assembly, PIC Basic Pro, and C

PIC17C44 Serial data acquisition system  (TLV5614/5627 Quad  DAC, TLV2543/542 11 channel ADC, DS1302S RTC, and digital I/O)

PIC17C44 Serial data acquisition with 8 channel 4-20mA current loop inputs and 16 Digital Input (MAX187).

PIC16C622A small motor controller with  DS1302S RTC

PIC16C622A small Valve Control Design - very low power requirements - runs months with thousands of valve operations on  4 AA batteries even though the valve is around 3 A 30mSec pulse on or off.

PIC17C44 Stereo Audio sound recording with processing and delaying the sound (TLC0820 ADC, TLV7528 DAC, RAM, LM4832M AUDIO CHIP, battery operated)

Multiple PIC17C756A Electric Go Kart with a complete drive by wire control.  High power 1.5 HP > 225 amp drive motor controller, >20 Amp steering motor controller,  The go kart is enabled with a 50 to 100 foot range IR gun. (TLV2543/542 ADC, RAM, PWM,  LCD, etc)  Very large project.

PIC17C756A USB data acquisition system (FT245BM USB, TLV5614/5627 Quad  DAC, TLV2543/542 11 channel ADC, DS1302S RTC, and digital I/O)

PIC16F648A O2 Sensor for monitoring of a engine. (ADS7841 ADC, DAC7513 DAC, Bosch CJ125 O2 IC,  XTR115 4-20 mA output loop, etc)

PIC16C622A Alarm with sound recorder chip - battery operated

PIC16F648A Reflow oven temperature profiler (8 MAX6675 Type K thermocouples and MAX6662 internal temperature)

PIC16C622A Two pump chemical mixing (transformerless powerline operation)

and some of my PIC  and other electronic  home projects:

PIC17C756A CNC control of a Pratt and Whitney Tapemate C

PIC16C877A X10 control projects

PIC17C756A Antenna rotor control for Amateur Radio beam antennas

PIC16F648A Video sequencer

Rabbit RCM3720 remote for D700 packet (or other packet terminals)
