I am a Swedish translator now based in Sweden (until December of 2004 based in Wisconsin). Born and raised in Sweden, but educated in both Sweden and the USA. I have experience in translating to and from English in all subject matters, particularly marketing, business, finance and advertising. I have also done translation reviews, proofreading, and word association.

Subject Matters

I am well qualified to handle texts related to Business, Advertising and Marketing, but also Finance, Articles, Editorials, Fiction, and Entertainment. I have had projects concerning technical manuals, computer marketing material, and business plans.

Formats

Macintosh based, but will convert files to PC if requested. Can deliver and accept files in Word, AppleWorks, Acrobat pdf, rtf or html. Other file formats available, please contact me.

Rates

Rates are per word in the original document to be translated, payable in USD after project's completion. Services other than translations are charged per hour. Rates vary depending on the nature of the text, file format, and the project's due date. For specifics, please contact me.

Qualifications

Education

Master's degree in International Business Administration and Economics from Umeå University in Sweden.
Three semesters at University of Wisconsin - Whitewater as an exchange student.
One year as an exchange student at Bastrop High School in Bastrop, Louisiana.

Experience

Previously a staff writer and translator at MarknadsTestarna in Kista, Sweden from 1998 to 1999; producing and translating texts in both languages.
Writer for the Stockholm International Film Festival's bilingual catalogue in 1998 and 1999, also translating my texts to English.
Freelance translator in Madison, Wisconsin from May of 2000 until July of 2003, when the sabbatical started (see above).
